APPLYING CONDITIONS
- General Conditions
- Applicant has accepted, declared and pledged that s/he has the film’s literary and financial rights such as presentation and screening.
- To be able to enter, films should be no more than 25 minutes in length.
- Films should touch upon the festival theme “Intercultural dialogue”.
- Films should have a sufficient enough image quality for screening.
- If images from other films, original music, visual effects and animations are used in the film, these permissions should be obtained from the owner of the work and attached to the application form.
- Fiction, Experimental, Animation and Documentary categories may enter the festival. All the entries will be evaluated collectively.
- One may enter the competition with more than one film.

- Application to the festival is honorary
- Application form should be downloaded from http://www.jciistanbulcrossroads.com/2011application.doc and signed.
- Application form and DVD (PAL) format copy of film should be delivered sealed to the application address.
- If the applicant’s applying with more than one film, application form must be filled out and signed for each film separately.
- Application Address: Digital Film Academy, Halaskargazi Cad. Kipman Apt. No: 209 A Blok Kat: 8 Sisli 34381 – ISTANBUL, TURKEY.
- Application deadline is October 25th 2010, Saturday.
- Evaluation Criteria
- Festival directory will pass the films through a pre-elimination before presenting the applying films to the jury’s evaluation. Pre-elimination will seek conformation to the application conditions. Films that don’t conform any of the rules will be eliminated. However, festival committee will be able to include these films to the screening program.
- Films will be evaluated according to the grading methods in “Contribution to the Theme”, “Screenplay”, “Excellency”, “Visuality”, “Editing” criteria.
- 10 films that get the highest grade will be named Festival Finalist and highest graded three films will be awarded with various awards.
- Awards
- Digital Film Academy will give DFA Checks at the value of
5,000 TL for 1st place
3,000 TL for 2nd place
2,000 TL for 3rd place. Awarded competitors will be able to take advantage of DFA educations or use equipment/studio rental services with these checks. DFA checks cannot be transferred other parties or cannot be turned into cash.
- Additionally various establishments and institutions will be able to give various awards to the awarded films
- Rights and Obligations
- Competitors accept and declare that the films they are sending are legally theirs. Applicant has the responsibility of any disputes that may rise about the copyright with any third party.
- Films sent to the competition will be able to be screened at the events organized or sponsored by JCI Istanbul Branch and Digital Film Academy.
- All the applicants are considered to have accepted these conditions.
- If any disagreement occurs Istanbul Courts are authorized.
